Welcomes adult practicing Catholics committed to sharing in the spirituality,
and assisting in the ministries of the Congregation of the Oblates of St. Joseph. Meetings are held every third Saturday of the month beginning at 9:00 a.m., concluding with Mass.
The laity we serve, and who in return support us, are an essential focus of our ministry in all of our parishes and religious communities. We are committed to not only meeting their pastoral needs in our apostolic ministry, but also inviting them to share more deeply in the spirituality and charism of the Oblates of St. Joseph.
In both the USA Province and here at the Shrine of St. Joseph, we have established and support members of the Josephite-Marellian Laity Society ("Family of St. Joseph") as they share in our work for the Church by fostering devotion to St. Joseph and promoting holy vocations. The members also study the life and writings of St. Joseph Marello, Founder of the Congregation of the Oblates of St. Joseph. Membership within the society requires a proper period of formation by faithful attendance at meetings, retreats and workshops. The individual is then officially welcomed into the society by a simple ceremony, usually within the context of the celebration of Holy Mass, and a blessed St. Joseph medal is conferred upon the new member.
